The EZ-1 irons are designed for absolute maximum forgiveness in a one-piece forged head. The center of gravity is very low and rearward towards the trailing edge for increased playability. The clubface is longer from heel to toe than a SB-1 or AR-1 and features more weight pushed around the perimeter of the club. This makes the EZ-1 irons just as forgiving as most of the larger oversized irons on the market today while retaining a traditional look at address including the thin top-line and classic shape most golfers prefer. The EZ-1 irons are available in 3-PW and offered in our 3 unique sole grinds to fit 1 of our 3 swing types. Like all Scratch Golf clubs, the EZ-1 irons provide a very clean look unique to the Scratch Golf brand, which allows for additional personalization to further customize the clubs for the player.
HEADS
Scratch EZ-1 irons are forged from 1018 carbon steel, the softest material utilized by any manufacturer. After the initial forging process, our raw heads are ground and finished completely by hand. The end result is the finest hand made forged traditional cavity back iron in golf, customized for your game. The head shape of the EZ-1 irons is inspired by Scratch's work with Tour Pros from around the globe. Specific attention was paid to the transition from the middle irons to the short irons to assure perfect flow throughout the set.
GROOVES
The EZ-1 irons feature our "Condition of Competition" legal V grooves. These grooves are legal for play in any tournament, so you never have to worry about taking your favorite set of Scratch irons out of the bag. Our grooves are designed to have the maximum amount of groove surface while still adhering to the new USGA rules. Our grooves reduce flier lies as well as provide more consistent spin and performance.
FINISH
EZ-1 irons feature Scratch’s Satin Chrome finish. This finish provides the durability of chrome with a duller surface to help eliminate glare. The minimal stampings of the AR-1 irons provide a very clean look unique to the Scratch Golf brand and allow room for personal stampings to to be added to customize the clubs for the player.
SHAFTS
Scratch EZ-1 irons feature True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shafts. Made 100% in the USA, the True Temper Dynamic Gold has been the standard in golf shaft performance since the original introduction of the Dynamic line in 1942.
