Scratch Golf has learned that its wedges made their Major Championship debut at the U.S. Open at the storied Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. To date, Scratch Golf wedges have become a fixture on the PGA Nationwide Tour and have already been used by players in PGA Tour events. This is the first appearance of Scratch wedges in a major championship, however.

“We are very proud of having achieved this company milestone,” Scratch Golf CEO Ari Techner observed. “This year has really established our product out on Tour and this appearance of our wedges at the U.S. Open makes that statement even stronger. We are really offering a product that is like no other. As more players learn the benefits, more players will start to take advantage of what we have to offer. Control and feel around the greens are the keys to scoring well and we are very proud to offer our unique technology to the best players in the world, as well as to all golfers that want to lower their scores. We hope to hear some good news at the British Open next month!”

Scratch Golf earned a top ten finishes at the European LPGA Tour’s “French Open” and on the PGA Nationwide Tour’s “Knoxville Open” which was held at the Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee. The 8th place finisher on the Nationwide has played his 52 degree Scratch wedge for over a year and was among the first Tour players to discover the special benefits of Scratch Golf’s Super Soft forged 1018 Carbon Steel technology. Asa Gottmo, the 8th place finisher at the LPGA European Tour’s French Open, is a recent Scratch Golf convert. Asa earned her second consecutive top ten in as many weeks with her 58 degree SFU grind wedge. Gottmo had her best round of the year when she shot a 67 on Friday of the four day event. Friday was also Gottmo’s 36th birthday.

“It was another fine week for Scratch Golf on PGA and LPGA Tours around the world,” Scratch Golf CEO Ari Techner stated. “We are very appreciative of the efforts of all the players that try our products on Tour and it is rewarding to see them do so well week in and week out. Of course we feel we have established ourselves on the Nationwide already. It is extra satisfying, however, to see that we are getting play in Europe on both the men’s and ladies’ PGA Tours. We at Scratch Golf want to wish Asa Gottmo a belated happy birthday. It’s great to see she shot a 67 on that day. We wish her continuing success for the rest of this year as it seems she is playing better and better each week. Thanks for having faith in our products, Asa. Best of luck next week at the ‘Ladies Open de Portugal’. We’ll be pulling for you, of course.”

Scratch Golf earned a top ten on the European LPGA Tour at the prestigious “Catalonia Ladies Masters” which was held last weekend at Club de Golf Masia Bach. European Ladies Tour veteran Asa Gottmo used a Scratch Golf “JLM Series” 58 degree SFU grind en route to her tie for 7th place. This finish was Gottmo’s best of the year on Tour.

“Asa Gottmo really likes her Scratch Golf wedge,” stated Anders Dahlen, President of Flog & Birdie Sports of Stockholm. Flog & Birdie is the exclusive distributor of Scratch Golf products in Sweden. “In fact, we have made up 52 and 54 degree Scratch Golf wedges for Asa and will get them to her the next time she is back home here in Stockholm. What she likes is the solid contact she gets from hitting a grind which matches her swing. She also loves the feel which is derived from the soft 1018 Carbon forgings. These wedges are truly special. There is nothing else comparable in golf.”

Scratch Golf earned a top three finish on the PGA Nationwide Tour at last weekend’s The Rochester Area Charities Showdown which was held at Somerby Golf Club in Byron, Minnesota. The third place, long time Scratch wedge user held the lead after three rounds but could not hang on to get the win during Sunday’s final round. The third place finish was Scratch Golf’s third consecutive “top three” on the PGA Nationwide Tour in as many weeks.

Scratch Golf earned a top three finish for the second consecutive week out on the PGA Nationwide Tour with a solo third place finish at The Rex Hospital Open which was held at the TPC Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, North Carolina. Scratch Golf company officials indicated that its number of wedges in play also increased at last weekend’s Nationwide Tour event.

“The word about our wedges is definitely getting around among the Nationwide Tour players,” Scratch Golf Tour Representative Paul Friedrich observed. “We made a lot of wedges for players last week and we see that more and more of the guys out here are putting them into play. At this rate, we expect that we will have wedges in the top ten with more regularity, which is already proving to be true. As always, thanks to all the players who are trying our equipment out there each week with so much on the line. I’m sure that our unique, fitted and very customized technology will help them gain the feel and control they need to score to the best of their ability.”

Three Scratch Golf wedges were in the bag of one of two players that finished tied for third place at the 2007 PGA Nationwide Tour’s “LaSalle Bank Open” which concluded yesterday at The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois. The tie for third becomes Scratch Golf’s best finish on Tour this year.

“Every week seems to be getting better and better for us out on the Nationwide Tour,” Scratch Golf’s PGA Tour Representative Paul Friedrich commented. “Following last weekend’s two top ten finishes with our best finish of the year gives us the feeling that we may get a win out here before too long. More and more players are having Scratch wedges made for them and the comments we hear reflect those of the general golfing public. They love the more solid contact they make with our grinds that fit their swing type but they really love the Scratch Golf super soft 1018 Carbon Steel forgings. These guys on Tour are all about ‘feel’ around the greens and with our forgings, they have more feel than they have ever experienced. We are proud that these world class PGA Nationwide Tour players have given us so much positive feedback.”

Scratch Golf wedges were used by two top ten finishers at last weekend’s 2007 “Melwood Prince George’s County Open” PGA Nationwide Tour event which was held at The Country Club at Woodmore in Mitchelville, Maryland. With ties for 5th and 10th place at the event, Scratch wedges earned their best finishes of the year on the Nationwide Tour. Three Scratch Golf wedges were also in the bag of a Hooter’s Tour player who tied for 25th. This particular player is looking to earn his exempt status on the Nationwide and can do so if he keeps performing well at the Nationwide events in which he plays.

“It was another exciting week for us on the Nationwide,” Scratch Golf’s PGA Tour Representative Paul Friedrich stated. “Our numbers of wedges in play have consistently climbed so it was nice to see a couple of top tens happen this week for us. As always, we are so appreciative of all the feedback we get from these world class players and each week more and more guys are putting our wedges into play. We hope to keep things rolling as the summer kicks in. Congrats to these three fine players. We look forward to following their progress throughout the year.”

Scratch Golf wedges were used to earn a tie for 13th at last weekend’s 2007 “BMW Charity Pro Am at The Cliffs” PGA Nationwide Tour event. Notably, Scratch Golf wedges climbed to the number two position in terms of the number of forged wedges put into play on the Nationwide last week.

“We are happy that we have passed some very prominent competitors in terms of number of forged wedges put into play this week,” Scratch Golf’s PGA Tour Representative Paul Friedrich observed. “In addition to the great news in terms of the number of our wedges that made it into play this week, we also had a great week in terms of new players trying our products. This bodes well for continuing improvement as far as the number of Scratch Golf clubs in play over the next weeks and months as the season rolls on.”

Urban Golf has become one of the most trusted, state-of-the-art fitting specialists in all of the U.K.

The Scratch Golf JLM series and the Scratch Tour Department offer us a truly unique opportunity to fit our clients to a standard never before seen in the United Kingdom. It is without doubt that the craftsmen at Scratch Golf have created the only ‘grind option’ wedges offered today. “Having visited Urban Golf for the first time last month, I came away very impressed,” Scratch Golf’s Ari Techner observed. “As a golfer, I can’t think of a cooler place to hang out short of being on the golf course. I wish we had an ‘Urban Golf’ in Portland. I’d probably make the two hour drive from our offices in Eugene every weekend. From the moment you go down the stairs below street level at the Urban Golf shop in Smithfield, you are truly in an ‘urban’ environment. You can then take advantage of one of six golf simulators that can put you on dozens of different golf courses around the world. We are excited and, to be truthful, honored to be a featured part of such an impressive, if not revolutionary golfing concept. Most importantly to me, however, is that the staff at Urban Golf really knows their stuff in terms of fitting our product to their golfing clients’ needs. We think that Urban Golf and Scratch Golf are a great fit and we are proud to be available in the U.K. through such a first rate venue.”

Scratch Golf has confirmed that its wedges were put into play last weekend at a European PGA Tour event. Scratch officials believe that this is the first appearance on the European Tour of its premium golf equipment. The European PGA Tour rookie that used Scratch Golf’s wedges has indicated that he will be putting them back into play at this week’s upcoming European Tour Italian Open.

“We are very pleased that our wedges have been deemed worthy to be used with so much at stake for this young and very talented player,” Scratch Golf’s PGA Tour Representative Paul Friedrich stated. “Our clubs are very much a part of the Nationwide Tour landscape every week and they have been used on the PGA Tour but it’s very gratifying to see that we are gaining popularity among the very best players all over the world. I’m certain that this will be welcome news to our dealers in Europe as I’m sure they will be able to generate more and more interest in our products as a result. We look forward to continuing our growth and influence on all PGA Tours around the globe.”
